Community Garage Sale
A new community group has recently sprouted up in the Ainslie Wood North neighbourhood as a pilot project to foster a sense of community among the permanent and student residents living in that area. This group is known as the AWN Collective and has had a few meetings to plan events for the neighbourhood. The website can be found at AWNGroup.com. (For those of you wondering, the Ainslie Wood North neighbourhood is the community located around Sanders Blvd, west of Cootes Drive and north of Main Street.)
The kick-off event for the AWN Collective is a Community Garage Sale along Sanders Blvd on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event is not restricted to those living in the AWN neighbourhood. If you would like to participate as a vendor in this sale, please email awngroup@gmail.com ASAP so that we can guarantee a space for you to set up a table along Sanders Blvd. Or, if you're just looking to pick up a bargain, come out and join us on the 26th.
The AWN Collective is made up of long-time AWN residents, student residents, and representatives from the various McMaster student organizations and McMaster University itself. Members of the Collective have visited homes in the AWN neighbourhood to spread the word about the purpose of the group, as well as to recruit new members.
