Dundas Valley Tree Keepers' Heritage Tree Hunt

Published: June 28, 2009

I am a member of the local volunteer group called the Dundas Valley Tree Keepers (DVTK). Our group is excited about our summer project which is a Heritage Tree Hunt running through Sept. 15, 2009. The DVTK promotes events that support awareness and conservation of the urban, rural and natural forests of the Dundas Valley. Visit us at www.dundastrees.ca .

I am writing to let you know about the Heritage Tree Hunt as the area of Ainslie Wood North and a portion of Ainslie Wood West (west of Wilson Street) are included in the Heritage Tree Hunt area. We wish to encourage people from the area to identify and nominate trees of significance such as large tree, native species, distinct form, tree with historical significance, kid friendly tree and group of trees to name a few of the ten categories. Winning entries will be judged for each category and best overall with a celebration to be held in Dundas in October.

See the links below for detailed information and nomination form.

All the best and Happy Heritage Tree Hunting!
