TownGown World Website Launched Nov. 12
Published: November 14, 2007
Past AWWCA president Rob Payne has launched a new website dealing with town and gown planning issues.
The website focuses on collaborative community planning processes for communities that surround higher educational institutions. The site will have both an international and academic focus, examining the planning processes being used in different geographical areas around the world to address near campus neighbourhood well being.
The site is a collaborative effort, with contributing authors from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, who add their expertise to town gown planning. TownGown World will actively encourage contributors from other demographical and geographical areas to contribute to our knowledge of community planning issues that impact near campus communities.
Said Rob: “I encourage members to visit the forum section at www.towngownworld.com where they can place their comments about planning issues that matter to them.” I hope this site will be an asset to the AWWCA in our struggle for a sustainable and balanced community.
