Environment Hamilton's Climate Change Challenge for Ainslie Wood and Westdale

Published: July 24, 2007

If you haven't heard already, Environment Hamilton has launched a Climate Change Challenge this summer. We are heading door-to-door to distribute a map of over 50 local food growers and free energy saving kits worth $30. We are also challenging each household to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by having them pledge to take steps to reduce their impact on the planet. We're asking people to consider such things as public transit, home heating and cooling demands, peak energy times and local food.

From the positive feedback received to date, Hamiltonians are very willing, when asked, to make changes for our future. But, we need your help. To make this the most successful climate change campaign Hamilton has ever seen, we need volunteers to deliver our message.

We need up to 10 volunteers from the Ainslie Wood/Westdale community to spend a few hours distributing the maps and energy kits during August. We will do our best to work around your schedule. Please consider joining us for a night or two... meet your community and help put a dent in energy demands in Hamilton!

Feel free to contact us for any more information or to sign-up today! Call (905) 289-439-5632 or email us at climatechangechallenge@hotmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Heather Alexander
